This map depicts operating conditions from 1895 to 1897. The section on Lake Street from Market Street (Wacker Drive) to Wabash opened on September 22, 1895. The section from Lake and Wabash to Adams and Wabash entered operation on November 8, 1896. At this point, what existed of the Loop was used exclusively by the Lake Street Elevated Railroad.
