This is a route-map template for the Loop, a rapid transit line in Chicago.

Note: Per consensus and convention, most route-map templates are used in a single article in order to separate their complex and fragile syntax from normal article wikitext. See this discussion for more information.

This map depicts operating conditions from 1993 to 1997.

The Ravenswood/Brown Line operated in a circuit around the Outer Loop track. The Evanston Express/Purple Line Express and Orange Line operated in a circuit around the Inner Loop track. The Lake-Dan Ryan and its successor, the Green Line, operated only on the Lake and Wabash sides on both tracks.

Lake-Dan Ryan service was replaced with the Green Line on February 21, 1993. The Orange Line began operating on October 31, 1993.

Madison/Wells closed on January 30, 1994, to make way for the construction of Washington/Wells. Washington/Wells opened July 17, 1995, with Randolph/Wells closing the same day.
