Parameters

1. State/Province/Region
2. Parent category link (e.g., "Wikipedians in <parent country>")
3. Name of the parent country (this will be used as the sort key within the parent category)
4. Optional Wikitext appended after the link to The State/Province/Region, so you can add regional noticeboard links, etc. It defaults to a period.

Example

To create a category for wikipedians in Massachusetts in the United States:

{{Usercat-1|Massachusetts|Wikipedians in Massachusetts|United States|United States}}

Note that in the below example output, the "To add yourself to this list..." segment is incorrect because it uses the {{PAGENAME}} variable. When you place this on the category page, it will work correctly.

Errors

If this tenplate with a second parameter which does not begin with "Wikipedians in", then an error message is generated. These errors are tracked:

• Category:Template Usercat-1 with invalid parameter (population 0)
