Parameters
edit|id=
- The "id" parameter (or unnamed parameter "1") should contain the ID portion of the URL. Example: 1122 is the ID portion of http://www.worldbridge.org/people/person.asp?qryid=1122 (archived) or http://db.worldbridge.org/Repository/peopleforscrap/person.asp?qryid=1122. This parameter is optional if Wikidata property P3172 exists, but required if not. If not provided, the template will attempt to fetch it from Wikidata.
|name=
- The "name" parameter (or unnamed parameter "2") may be used to specify the link text, which should be the name of the athlete. This parameter is optional when the template is used in the player's Wikipedia article; it defaults to the article name, without any disambiguation such as "(bridge)". It should be provided if the template is used other articles.
|access-date=
- The "access-date" parameter (or unnamed parameter "3") is for use in references.
How to find the "id"
editOne of the following methods may be used to find a player's WBF page and determine the id number:
- Go to the WBF People Finder and search for the player's surname. If the surname is unknown, try different parts of the known name separately.
- Use a web search engine such as Google or Bing (examples for Riki Markus):
- Google search:
Rixi Markus site:worldbridge.org
- Bing search:
Rixi Markus site:worldbridge.org
- Google search:
The id number for the person can be seen at the end of the URL, such as 1122:
http://www.worldbridge.org/people/person.asp?qryid=1122
(archived)http://db.worldbridge.org/Repository/peopleforscrap/person.asp?qryid=1122
Examples
editExternal link
editWhen only the first unnamed parameter (or "id") is used, the link text includes the article name.
* {{WBF | 1122 }}
* {{WBF |id= 553 }}
When the article name is different than the player's name, the second unnamed parameter (or "name") should be included.
* {{WBF | 1122 | Rixi Markus }}
* {{WBF |id= 553 |name= Omar Sharif }}
