Instructions

This template is intended for substitution on aircraft articles; it should be placed just below the header in an aircraft article's specifications section.

Usage

Paste the following to output standardized 3-view image code

{{subst:3-view|imagename.ext|Aircraft name}}

the above code will output an image in the following format

[[Image:imagename.ext|right|300px|Orthographically projected diagram of the Aircraft name.]]

If the image you want to include is smaller than 300px, you'll need to resize it after subst:ing the template.

What to do if the second parameter is left blank

Sometimes this template is applied with the second parameter left blank, which results in rather horrible text for the image (there's a stray "{{{2}}}", see e.g. this old version). If the second parameter is left blank, can we just set the template to use the generic word "aircraft" instead? Or alternatively, just display "Orthographically projected diagram" and leave out the "of the"? TheGrappler (talk) 02:08, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
