Template talk:30 Rock

Changes

edit

I've made some changes to this template. Here's a list, with reasons.

  1. Removed section title "General"—it's unnecessary.
  2. Removed both instances of 'Minor Cast'—there's already an identical link in the "Characters" section called 'Minor characters'.
  3. Removed specific links for 'Season One' and 'Season Two', because they're only section links within the main "Episodes" article.
  4. Removed 'Category'. I've never seen this done before. It seems unnecessary and non-standard—the category page is accessible from the bottom of every page in the category itself.
  5. Removed "Crew" and "Writers" sections. These elements of the show aren't major enough to warrant inclusion in the template—they should be included in the main 30 Rock article, perhaps, but not here.
  6. Removed 'NBC', 'General Electric', 'Rockefeller Centre', and 'NBC page' from the "Elements" section—again, these aren't major enough to warrant inclusion.

If you revert any of these changes, please provide a reason here on the talk page. Thank you. Mr. Absurd (talk) 00:25, 23 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

I think NBC page should be listed under element because many episodes have subplots centered around the NBC page's (e.g. "The C Word", "Rosemary's Baby") and there is a major character who is an NBC page. -- Jamie jca (talk) 19:04, 23 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Would you be ok if the template looked like this?

edit

I also propose that we make pages for Johnathan, Lutz, Dr. Spaceman, Grizz and Dot Com. The disctinction I make between "Major" and "Minor" is if they are in the opening credits and should be up for discussion. J52y (talk) 05:32, 7 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

I went ahead and made said changes because no one said anything at all. J52y (talk) 08:39, 12 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
Hi! I made a comment on your talk page about this just now. Banjaloupe (talk) 15:45, 12 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

New look

edit

I changed the template considerably today. Instead of four lines, I made it into two separate sections, "major" and "minor", with the actors' name behind their characters. This way, IMPO, it is more neat and tidy. --Soetermans | is listening | what he'd do now? 07:40, 5 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
