Template talk:8TeamBracket-Byes
Latest comment: 17 years ago by Andrwsc in topic Two games per round
Template description: This template is similar to Template:8TeamBracket, except that it employs some extremely complicated and esoteric features of template syntax to show first round byes in a tournament bracket.

Cell widths
editI recently increased the cell widths for the team names from 125 to 180 in order to fit some long team names in there. This shouldn't screw up anything - but if it did, let me know and I will fix it (or, fix it yourself and let me know) -- Chuq 08:53, 2 July 2006 (UTC)
- As long as it fits on a 800x600 monitor resolution, it will be fine. Zzyzx11 (Talk) 15:09, 2 July 2006 (UTC)
- I previously updated this template to use em space widths instead of fixed pixel widths so that it would render proportionally to the text size currently in use by the reader's browser. One consequence of this is that if you want to change the widths, you need to write "team-width=150px" or "team-width=9em" (for example). The "px" or "em" unit choice must be part of this parameter; it will not work if you try "team-width=150". Andrwsc 21:35, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
Two games per round
editAnyone know how I can add a second game score box for the Championship game round? I tried "RD3-score1a" and "RD3-score1b" and it is not working. Yezn0r 10:47 5/30/07
- You'd need to write a new version of this template to get what you want. Perhaps try Template:8TeamBracket-Tennis3, which has room for best-of-3 scores. Andrwsc 03:46, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
- Alternately, use an mdash to put both scores in one cell, like this:
RD3-score1=1—2
Andrwsc 03:47, 31 May 2007 (UTC) - Thanks! I did it! I am getting really good with this Wikipedia stuff, haha. Template:3RoundBracket-Byes-DubElm. Yezn0r 12:30 31 May 2007
