Victoria Square

For Victoria Square, should not the existing Victoria Square page be used and an Adelaide section included along side the Birmingham entry?--Cyberjunkie 19:00, 20 November 2004

Links

When would a link warrant being taken off the tasks list? It's looking a bit cluttered and some of the articles look like they've got a reasonable amount of information. - Diceman 17:42, 1 September 2005 (UTC)

I've done a bit of a trim and replaced some links. I'll try and prune it a bit more later today. I think once articles are created and are of decent length (say, a few paragraphs) then they can be removed. It shouldn't matter if they are still "stubs", either. Multi-Function Polis

Not that I object to its removal, but I just thought I should mention that the MFP was a very significant (and failed) project. Much of the literature on Adelaide in the post-Dunstan era talks extensively on it, along with ASER, Bannon, the Grand Prix and the State Bank collapse. Mawson Lakes and Technology Park owe their existence to MPF, as does much of northern Adelaide (well, Salisbury at least).--Cyberjunkie | Talk 13:28, 30 October 2005 (UTC)

I agree that the Multi-Function Polis was a very significant concept in the Bannon era, and in part is now being realised in Mawson Lakes, althogh nobody would dare use the term! Monarto probably also deserves an article as the vision of the Dunstan era, but I'm not old enough to remember that one. Yeah, the freeway plan is the "MATS plan" (I think the long name was Metropolitan Adelaide Transport Study, or something of the like). It's a pretty amazing thing: I've seen the original maps and plans for tunnels under the parklands, massive freeways and interchanges cutting swathes through inner suburbia, and even a subway station underneath King William Street. It was published in 1962 I think, and is apparently also significant for the method used in its development. It also used figures like a prediction of Adelaide's population at 1.3 million by either 1990 or 2000! (!) Itsonlyme 18:25, 3 May 2006 (UTC)

Should we include the finge as a significant event held in Adelaide?? I think it is a significant event in the Adelaide events calender, possibly too the Clipsal 500?? --Agir 11:14, 21 September 2006 (UTC)
