Template:Allmovie name

edit

editrequest Fellow editors …

Since this template is currently protected from editing, I have cloned it as Allmovie name and provided a documentation file to match the other templates listed in these examples … I'm open for suggestions on how to deal with legacy/duplicate templates, like Amg movie v Allmovie title … some have Very Clear instructions, while others assume that you will read the Discussion page for instructions and examples. <Sigh!>

Please see Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Films#Template:Allmovie name as well … BTW, I agree with PC78 (talk · contribs) that Allmovie person is better than Allmovie name.

Happy Editing! — 138.88.91.205 (talk · contribs) 18:27, 4 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

P.S. The "instructions" on this Discussion page are inoperative, so an up-to-date doc file is needed ASAP. — 138.88.91.205 (talk) 18:48, 4 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

editrequest Please link in Template:Amg name/doc to the template. Documentation file created. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 19:43, 4 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Please add documentation to the currently protected template so that Template:Amg name/doc will be displayed. — 138.88.91.205 (talk) 22:33, 4 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Template:Amg name/doc must be referenced

edit

editprotected

The template Amg name needs to be edited as follows:

{{{2|{PAGENAME}}}} at allmovie<!-- From Template:Amg name --><noinclude>documentation

</noinclude>

Some Other Editor must add the documentation tag in the protected template (Amg name), which will make the doc file display correctly, and then this template (Allmovie name) may be deleted with impunity. :-) — 138.88.91.205 (talk) 01:10, 5 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

I added the categories to the doc page instead. --CapitalR (talk) 11:44, 5 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
  Done … Thnx! :-) — 138.88.91.205 (talk) 16:20, 5 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

final cleanup

edit

Fellow editors …

I'm glad to see that consensus was reached on Amg name and Amg movie for the allmovie templates … I've tried to make the two doc files look as if they were provided by a common resource, but that's about as much lipstick as I feel like putting on these pigs, so I guess it's time for me to Move On! :-)

URL change

edit

editprotected Below message taken from here

Currently the movie templates are used like 1:356351 , which creates the link http://www.allmovie.com/cg/avg.dll?p=avg&sql=1:356351 which redirects to http://www.allmovie.com/work/356351. Luckily the link http://www.allmovie.com/work/1:356351 also pulls up the page just fine (at the moment), so if you change the template to link to http://www.allmovie.com/work/{} it shouldn't break any links. Then someone (I can do it) could run AWB to remove 1: and 2: from the templates. – Quadell (talk) 01:26, 20 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Can an admin help change the link? -- Phoenix (talk) 05:53, 20 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Move discussion in progress

There is a move discussion in progress on Template talk:Amg movie which affects this page. Please participate on that page and not in this talk page section. Thank you. —RM bot 17:30, 1 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Edit request to fix URL redirect

edit

Allmovie.com now redirects to Allrovi.com, and Allmovie redirects to Allrovi, so I am requesting to update the code of this template (and Allmovie title) to avoid the URL redirect. The name of this template should also be changed to Allrovi name.

{{{2|{PAGENAME}}}} at Allrovi<noinclude> documentation </noinclude>Dream out loud (talk) 12:01, 14 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Done, plus please see comment at Template talk:Allrovi/movie. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 15:13, 14 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Spelling

edit

Following the page move from Allrovi to AllRovi, I suggest that the spelling in this template be changed, too. See also: Template talk:Allrovi movie#Spelling. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 12:51, 15 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Done. Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 00:45, 19 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Now Allmovie

edit

AllRovi now serve their pages as allmovie.com where the former entry for Steven Spielberg, http://www.allrovi.com/name/p112325, is now to be found at http://www.allmovie.com/artist/p112325. The code and documentation for this template needs to be adjusted accordingly. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 12:11, 30 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

Done, also updated the documentation. -- Zyxw (talk) 08:54, 30 March 2014 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 10:11, 30 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Add Wikidata property support

edit

Please sync with sandbox to pull in support for Wikidata property: AllMovie person ID (P2019). Thank you. 50.53.1.33 (talk) 21:10, 9 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Request for Filmography Tab and/or all alt-Tabs per artist.

edit

Could we implement the Tab parameter for an artist template per their AllMovie page the same way we do with an AMG Title page, please? I think it would be suitable, especially with many separate filmography wikipages. Same goes for separate awards articles on Wiki. Thanks in advance. --Cinemaniac86TalkStalk 12:26, 13 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

"an252221" seems to be the new identifier, they don't seem to redirect identifiers. Sjoerd de Bruin (talk) 08:23, 26 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
