The track that the Tren de la Costa covers today was tended on space belonging originally by the "Compañía Nacional de Ferrocarriles Pobladores Argentinos" where in late XIX century the Tren de Abajo ran from Retiro to Tigre, so technically and because of it's history it still forms part of the city of Buenos Aires railroads.
