Nations Vs Counties

What's the benefit to including very limited information on the specific locations of some of the cases? The table seems to have moved in this direction as information has become available, but I think it is worth commenting as this page seems to be the most up to date source I can find for a whole UK update. I think that provided the information is available and reasonably reliable, regional data enables a more detailed picture to be obtained - for instance the government response in Italy is regional, tailored to the area of the country in which most cases have emerged. It may or may not be true that national papers are more reliable than regional papers, but I would argue the advantage to gaining a more detailed picture as cases emerge outweighs any deficiency in the reliability of regional UK newspapers. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:C7F:942E:A700:34B9:7632:4BE6:AC6B (talk) 13:03, 8 March 2020 (UTC)

Sometime between 8 March and 23 March, Scotland has its own statistics table. Shouldn't Wales and Northern Ireland as well? Been keeping archives of Wales since 20 March and Wales BBC reports that use PHW as their source since the first case: 2 feb, 5 mar, 8 mar, 9 mar, 10 mar, 11 mar, 12 mar, 13 mar, 14 mar, 16 mar death, 17 mar death and daily report archives (15 to 20 mar, excluding 16th, backtrack for that). 109.145.182.89 (talk) 18:33, 23 March 2020 (UTC)

Positive cases on 2 March

Web archive of the government website at http://web.archive.org/web/20200303035823/https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-information-for-the-public shows there are 40 positive cases instead of 39. Which one is correct? Llull juny (talk) 01:46, 5 March 2020 (UTC)

Table addition

I updated the table to reflect 21 March data as per here. https://imgur.com/d8lhFpR The additions i did by using what was on the table and calculating the new cases. The addition on the areas not however work. No idea how to go back in time on the dashboard to check numbers. In short it needs a tidy up in some form? Ms998 (talk) 11:20, 22 March 2020 (UTC)ms998

Reduce the table size

This table is too wide. It's hard to read on a desktop let alone a mobile. I'd suggest that the English regions columns be moved to the Covid England page, or deleted altogether unless someone is prepared to keep them up to date. It's probably just about ok to keep the 4 nations columns but only if they are kept up to date which they aren't being. Chris55 (talk) 11:04, 13 May 2020 (UTC)

Confirmed cases

There's a new discrepancy in the number of confirmed cases which I cannot currently solve: the current total "Includes tests carried out by commercial partners which are not included in the 4 National totals" (see https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/) Thare are discrepancies of around 15,000 currently from the internationally used tables (ECDC/John Hopkins) and nearly 75,000 from the sum of the 4 countries and there seems no way to check it. It accounts for discontinuity with the figures of 14-24 May.

Does anyone understand what's going on and whether it's possible to make the table consistent? Chris55 (talk) 20:17, 26 May 2020 (UTC)

"Confirmed deaths"

This is misleading. These people have not died from COVID-19, they have died having tested positive in the last 28 days. It is not possible to conclude that anyone has died from COVID-19 using the data published here: https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/deaths At best the headline figure of ~42,000 deaths is an upper bound, the lower being zero (yes I'm serious). This text "confirmed" should be reworded to "Possible". Polymath uk (talk) 12:42, 6 October 2020 (UTC)
