The Cenozoic era is composed of two periods, the one today called the quaternary period and the tertiary period. Someone please explain why everyone thinks there is a neogene and Paleogene period in the Cenozoic era. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 104.56.131.120 (talk) 03:18, 24 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Quaternary

edit

Hi,

Perhaps a controversial move removing the quaternary from the timeline? The ICS timeline still displays it, though recognising its transient status. Is it not better to take the lead from this authoritative source? Smith609 Talk 23:11, 3 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Quaternary (again)

edit

The ICS voted to add the Quaternary period in, so I amended the main Cenozoic article, but I couldn't figure out the syntax for doing it in the template. I'll put a note on Vers's page, too. Shorelander (talk) 00:26, 7 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Bug in Mesozoic column

edit

This timeline includes a very short column for the Mesozoic at the bottom. I've not been able to find out why exactly, but this {{Draw Bar}} ends up with an excessively large margin-top, causing it to be displayed much to low on the page. Can somebody have a look at this to find out exactly what the problem is? I believe it impacts other graphical timelines as well, so the bug may not be in this template.     SkyLined (talk) 16:28, 1 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Color Revert to USGS Colors

edit

Can you people revert these colors to the USGS Colors. So that the colors on the Geological History and the Geologic Time scale template's color correspond to this templates colors. 24.218.110.195 (talk) 22:03 9 March 2013 (UTC) 5:03pm 03/09/2013 EST.

N. American praire expands

edit

I would suggest deleting this. It is not one of the major events in the Cenozoic and it makes the template look clumsy as it overlaps with 'Messinian'. Dudley Miles (talk) 17:29, 2 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Events of the Cenozoic

edit

The diagram presents several periods, but indicates no Events. Suggested included events might be "Messinian Event" , "end of the Last Ice Age", "entry of Neanderthals into Europe" , "breach of the Bosphorus" . Candidate Events might be those that have a cause/effect or effect/cause relationship with the subject of the article (Messinian Event). It is understood that these events might not resolve to a point on the scale of the diagram, and might be speculative. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wikiphan (talkcontribs) 04:54, 21 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
