Piped links to sponsored titles
editI'd like to restore the piped links to sponsored race titles. The race articles should certainly stay as the registered title, with appopriate redirects, but I don't see anything wrong with the template reflecting the currently used sponsored title. For example, the Baring Bingham has never actually been run under its registered title and I'd say its still more common for media and racegoers to refer to it as the Neptune etc (or the Sun Alliance Hurdle, if you're old like me!). --Bcp67 (talk) 07:17, 8 January 2016 (UTC)
- Yes it makes sense for the template to show the most recognized race names. I've only edited the few that were with sponsored title so all of them to be under the same format. Although it is a bit odd to read Timico Gold Cup, or Stanjames Champion Hurdle. Imagine if aussies would refer to Melbourne Cup as the Emirates Cup, but in our case Bingham novices as the Neptune is how most know it as, so maybe the template should reflect that.
