Please improve the template and make it flawfree, thank you. - SunilShamnur talk

The idea of some kind of new template for chemical engineering seems like a reasonably good idea. However, currently the addition of this new template to an article makes it appear on the right side of the article. It many cases, there are pictures which also appear at the right side of various articles, therefore this template might interfere with the placement of those pictures. I am thinking of revising this template so that it stretches along the bottom of the articles instead, like a Navbox. An advantage would be that the template could then be expanded to include more items without interfering with the layout of the article. The drawback here is that the template will not be as easily visible once one goes to an article having this template, since it will be placed at the bottom of the article. Someday when I have time, I might revise this new template, but in the meantime you can try to do it yourself, if you like. Here is an examle: Template:Computer modeling

My summary notes so far on further review of this Template on Nov. 12, 2012 :

  • History of chemical engineering - include?
  • Unit operations - include
  • Unit process - stub, only in Navbox
  • Chemical engineer - include
  • Process integration - junky article only for navbox
  • Momentum transfer - take out
  • Heat transfer - include
  • Mass transfer - include at least in Navbox
  • Mechanical operations - goes to Unit operation; leave out, maybe in Navbox only
  • Chemical reaction engineering - sux, but leave in
  • Chemical kinetics - include
  • Chemical process modeling - stub, only in Navbox
  • Chemical technology - goes to Chemical engineering, leave out
  • Process control - stubby, non-specific, in Navbox only
  • Process integration - do not include twice
  • Process design - could be expanded but include
  • Fluid mechanics - include
  • Process systems engineering - change to Process engineering and include only in Navbox
  • Chemical plant design - change to Chemical plant and include
  • Chemical thermodynamics - include
  • Transport phenomena - include
  • More - goes to Outline of chem eng, leave out
  • Outline of chemical engineering - include
  • Index of chemical engineering articles - include
  • Education for chemical engineers - journal stub; leave out-too obscure
  • List of chemical engineers - Navbox only
  • List of chemical engineering societies - Navbox only
  • List of chemical process simulators - Navbox only
  • Perry's Chemical Engineer's Handbook - stubby, Navbox only
  • Category:Chemical engineering - include

I will decide categories for these later. H Padleckas (talk) 06:53, 12 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
