Removing Periods

edit

It seems to me removing the "Periods" section makes the navbar less useful. With the exception of the Gospels, the periods are clearly separate in Brown's career—he didn't continue doing Ed when he started to do autobio, and he didn't continue to do autobio when he started to do Underwater. Critics often talk about the different periods.

Given that the Navbox is supposed to help the user navigate the author's works, it seems to me it would be beneficial if the user could move chronologically through Brown's periods. It seems a bit of a stretch to me to call that "original research". If it is original research, then so would be any list that wasn't copied verbatim from an existing source.

If the list and the collections list seem redundant, maybe we could discuss it and come up with something that would be more beneficial than just throwing "Gospels" and "autobiography" into a random miscellaneous pile (you'll have to admit that "Major Themes" is totally unsatisfactory and unhelpful). Seeing as I'm not getting a response, and "Major Themes" is clearly OR if "Major Periods" was, I'm reverting until something more satisfactory and helpful to the readers can be found.
I tried fitting the periods into a "Chronology" section, but that didn't work, either.
Personally, I don't see how some slight redundancy would be negative if it made navigation easier. CüRlyTüRkeyTalkContribs 12:52, 18 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
