Wyatt Earp?

edit

Now that this template is called "Cochise County in the Old West," it seems misleading because all of the links are associated with Wyatt Earp and the Gunfight at the OK Corral (which was really just one event during a comparatively large time period). Because of this, I will be renaming it to "Earp-Clanton feud" and removing a few links accordingly. I will then add the template to where they should be.--$1LENCE D00600D (talk) 05:14, 22 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

There isn't a subhead for "Cochise County Feud" in the article Cochise County in the Old West. While the Earps suck in a lot of the air when modern writers describe events in Cochise County during the pioneer days, the conflict is broader than the Earps and their adversaries. There was a broad conflict between Republican vs. Democrat, Northerner vs. Southerner, Urban vs. Rural, U.S. vs. Mexico, between mine owners and cowboy interests. "Feud" describes a narrower conflict between two distinct parties. I'm renaming the template the "Cochise County Conflict." — btphelps (talk to me) (what I've done) 21:14, 23 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
