Taking out colonials

edit

I've taken out Monroe, Jefferson, etc. as they don't figure directly in the establishment of the modern attraction. Mangoe (talk) 00:35, 21 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Nav Box templates are only supposed to contain links to articles that are directly related to the main topic, are linked to by the other articles of the template, that themselves display the article, and that are defined by the realtion presented by the nav box. In otherwords the colonial history of the United States or the American Revolutionary War are a broad topics that are not defined by Williamsburg. In fact the inverse is true. You'd be better off making and History of Virginia template that includes Williamsburg. Most of the links on this templaate should come off. --Kevlar (talkcontribs) 20:45, 23 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

I agree with some of the things that shouldn't be on there, but the People section is accurate and all of those individuals did have a hand in shaping Colonial Williamsburg directly. The Geography section was 50/50, I kept some of the links out but several of them that are key to the area I replaced and put back in. Some of the links should have come off, yes, but "most"? Hardly. -Jrcla2 (talk) 20:55, 23 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
I think we mostly agree; however, you've got one thing backwards. It doesn't matter if John Doe was important to Williamsburg, but whether or not Williamsburg a defining element of John Doe's life. --Kevlar (talkcontribs) 06:54, 27 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
