Template talk:Deletionlist
Archiving
editUnless objected to, I plan on removing the request to archive. It's a waste of time, which discourages use of deletion sorting. I plan to simply tell people to remove closed AFDs. Opinions? --Rob 09:35, 28 December 2005 (UTC)
Instructions on how to use
editThese are hopeless for people not used to dealing with this stuff. Clear step-by-step instructions are needed explaining what gets added to which page. Johnbod 21:27, 11 April 2007 (UTC)
- I have attempted a more thorough guide for those not familiar with the processes. Tyrenius 00:57, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks, that's much better! Johnbod 02:38, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
Tag Location
editI'm thinking of removing the line "Place this tag above the nom statement, as it is a formal notice and not part of the debate." 2 reasons: I surveyed some of the deletion sorting subpages and I didn't see one that was complying with it, and I think it can be useful to see where in the process the AfD was brought to the sorting list. Anybody have an objection? --Butseriouslyfolks 05:38, 2 May 2007 (UTC)
- Not at all. Although not part of the debate, that one line certainly doesn't disrupt the flow of the discussion. Also, as you noted, few adhere to it. -- Black Falcon (Talk) 17:50, 2 May 2007 (UTC)
- I'm here as I was wondering about the placement as I have seen:
- Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The World At Night (TWAN) - Delsort added to the header mid-way through the discussion.
- Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rimo Haq - Delsort added to the end of the discussion thread and it then became embedded as part of the thread.
- Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Lila Rajiva (3rd nomination) - Delsort added to the end of the discussion thread and ever since people have been inserting new discussion items above this so that the delsort acts like a footer. Apparently people are recognizing the delsort is not part of the discussion thread.
- I've added the following to the delsort bullet. "You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread."
- I'm here as I was wondering about the placement as I have seen:
- There's no "change" to the instructions rather it's letting editors wondering about which is correct know that placement is left to the editor's discretion and/or preference. --Marc Kupper|talk 21:57, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
Edit summary
editCan we add a line suggesting that the linked article title be used as the edit summary when adding? Just got my wrist slapped because I didn't do it. Hornplease 09:44, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
