I don't know what are the rules of 'did you know', but I wonder if this inscription you mentioned is the best one to be shown in the 'did you know' section. Maybe a more general detail, like the fact that the marzēaḥ is attested from Ebla to Madaba map (maybe while noting that it appears in the bible, since people are often surprized by the wide cultural context of the bible in other Near Eastern cultures), or the scholar debate about its connection with veneration of the dead? פעמי-עליון (pʿmy-ʿlywn) - talk 10:37, 17 November 2024 (UTC)

For examples:

• ... that the marzēaḥ ceremony, mentioned in the bible, is attested earliest at Ebla in the 24th century BC, and latest in Madaba map in the 6th century AD?
• ... that therelationship between the marzēaḥ and veneration of the dead is still debated among scholars, due to sporadic literary evidence?

First of all, no need to thank for the nomination. You have created a high-quality article, so this nomination is deserved (this is also my first nomination, by the way). I found my hook interesting as it is quite unusual for an inscription to bless so many different people (especially the person in charge of the cooking). One of the rules is that the fact should be intriguing enough that it convinces people to click on the link, but it shouldn't be too technical for audiences unfamiliar with the topic. The first hook is a bit towards the technical side in my opinion. However, the second hook you mentioned is quite interesting.
