Template talk:Did you know nominations/Movement for Oneness and Jihad in West Africa
why do people keep rendering the movement as "oneness" and jihad. the word in arabic is tawhid, french unicite. it's a theological term meaning monotheism. in a way, monotheism doesn't quite capture it either. since most folks are perfectly comfortable using jihad as a technical term without translating it, i would suggest that the group be rendered in english as movement for tawhid and jihad in west africa. but, failing that, i think monotheism will leave fewer people scratching their heads than oneness. just a suggestion. a side note: this group has a separate wiki article under its arabic name. the two articles should probably be merged to avoid the implication that there are two distinct groups.
