edit- ... that Vermont folk musician Pete Sutherland hosted concerts at his house for $10 — or $9 if you brought your own chair? [2023-03-11 at 12:04:47, by BorgQueen]

edit@Lightburst, apologies for the late timing (the hook is scheduled for tomorrow), but the photographer I reached out to just got back to me and donated some photos! 🎉 Would it be possible to swap out the hook to reschedule it for a slot with a photo? Being able to show the photographer his image on the Main Page might help incentivize him to donate again in the future, and as I mentioned in the nomination, I think Sutherland has a very striking folky look. - Sdkb It seems like a good idea if a promotor likes the image. I will ask @Cielquiparle: and @Bruxton: about this because they have more experience with these matters. Lightburst (talk) 15:35, 14 March 2023 (UTC)
- Second thought if it is in the queue you should post this at DYK talk. An administrator would need to help. Lightburst (talk) 15:36, 14 March 2023 (UTC)
- Yes if this is to happen it needs an administrator. It is down to the wire and I would say do not get your hopes up. @DYK admins: Bruxton (talk) 15:59, 14 March 2023 (UTC)
- The Flickr original says "Some rights reserved". I'm not a copyright expert, so I'm not sure if that's adequate for the main page. In any case, it's not a great image, and will be even less so when reduced to main page size. It might be OK with some exposure adjustment, but given the unclear licensing and short deadline, I'm not going to dive into that myself. -- RoySmith (talk) 16:06, 14 March 2023 (UTC)
- The photo is licensed as CC-BY-SA-2.0 and that is one of the two licenses available on Flickr that work for Wikimedia Commons. Schwede66 16:17, 14 March 2023 (UTC)
- "Some rights reserved" is Flickr jargon for saying it is under a CC licence of some sort. The crucial thing is to look at the actual licence, which in this case is Attribution-ShareAlike 2.0 Generic (CC BY-SA 2.0), which should be fine. Anwyay, I've pulled the hook from the queue and reopened the nom, but as to whether the pic is used, that's out of my hands 😁 — Amakuru (talk) 16:20, 14 March 2023 (UTC)
- OK, thanks. I'm used to looking for the annotation from some bot that confirms the license, but didn't see that. Now I see that it's on the original this was cropped from.
- Also, I converted this to use {{main page image/DYK}}, but the image is showing up with a broken icon. Anybody know what's going on there? -- RoySmith (talk) 16:32, 14 March 2023 (UTC)
- FYI – On Safari, the thumbnail does not display at all. All I see is a blue square with a question mark in it. I have to click on the question mark to view the actual image. Cielquiparle (talk) 16:34, 14 March 2023 (UTC)
- Hmmm, this might be some server-side problem. I've reported it on IRC #wikimedia-tech. -- RoySmith (talk) 16:41, 14 March 2023 (UTC)
- Whatever is going on with the images seems to be transient. It's working now. I uploaded a new version of the image with the exposure adjusted. It's still not wonderful, but better than it was. I'll leave it to somebody else to figure out if it's main page worthy. -- RoySmith (talk) 18:35, 14 March 2023 (UTC)
