Could an uninvolved admin consider adding an EditNotice to this consensus list? If there is any page that deserves such a notice/restriction, I believe it would be a consensus list like this. I wrote a draft at: Template_talk:Editnotices/Pages/Template:COVID-19_treatments_(current_consensus)/sandbox. Pinging L235 who added one to the project-wide consensus last April. Thank you for any help/advice you can provide!--Shibbolethink (♔ ♕) 17:29, 8 August 2021 (UTC) (edited 19:22, 8 August 2021 (UTC))
- I also posted a request at RFPP because I wasn't sure if that was the appropriate venue for a "consensus required" request, or if a formal CR was even needed here. Apologies, this is absolutely not an attempt at forum shopping and am happy to withdraw either if procedurally out of order. --Shibbolethink (♔ ♕) 17:52, 8 August 2021 (UTC)
- Having looked at the WP:AELOG, the underlying page (Template:COVID-19 treatments (current consensus)) doesn't look to be currently subject to a consensus-required restriction. Therefore, an administrator who applies the editnotice is not merely performing a technical action; the administrator is themselves taking an arbitration enforcement action. Should an administrator wish to do so, they will need to log it at WP:AELOG. I recommend copying the template at Template:Editnotices/Page/Wikipedia talk:WikiProject COVID-19/Current consensus, as it uses the standard ArbCom-approved editnotice. Thanks to Shibbolethink for bringing this up. If you don't have success here, consider using the standard AE request pathways. Best, KevinL (aka L235 · t · c) 19:04, 8 August 2021 (UTC)

Okay, let's try this the informal way, without any formal restrictions. Just as advice to editors. Could someone please add the Template:Current_consensus_editnotice here, as is found on Talk:Donald_Trump/Current_consensus? One addendum, could you please add: |addendum=Please consider posting on the talk page first, to generate discussion.}}
? As in: {{Current consensus editnotice|addendum=Please consider posting on the talk page first, to generate discussion.}}
This would simply advise users on how to interact with the template, noting that editors should edit with caution, and use each #'d point for one and only point of consensus. See what I put in the sandbox for the result. As this is informal, I don't believe it requires any admin or ArbCom "formal action" and can even be done by a regular template editor.
