Red links
editI have just removed several links to non-existent articles. I do not believe that this template should be cluttered with a large number of red links. I think that links should only be added to the template for existing articles. What do others think? --TimTay (talk) 14:25, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
- It's a fair point but they need to be listed somewhere so that there is some incentive to pick them up and start their articles. Having them as red links on the navbox is just a useful way of doing that. Fintan264 (talk) 14:37, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
- I can see that. What about a compromise? Why not list redlinks for existing power stations? There really should be articles for those. As for ones which are no longer operational, I cannot see what incentive there would be for anyone to create an article. Take Weston-super-Mare for example, I have lived in the area since 1980 and never knew it had a power station. Nor does a quick google give up any information about it. If someone wants to create an article then that's fine but if one is unlikely to be created then the redlink is there for no purpose. --TimTay (talk) 16:50, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
- Yeh, fair enough. You're from the area and so it's down to you really. I'm from the opposite end of the country, and I was just adding a couple I found on a website. There was hardly any other information on a lot of them, and articles on them would hardly ever get past a couple of sentences. Fintan264 (talk) 17:05, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
Links to other regional powerstation navboxes
editI think it would be useful for all the regional power station navigation templates to link to each other. To keep discussion in one place, please comment at Template talk:South East powerstations#Links to other regional powerstation navboxes rather than here. Thryduulf (talk) 21:40, 28 October 2009 (UTC)
Redlinks in navbox
editThis navbox has several redlinks. Redlinks are not normally included as navboxes are seen as a way of linking articles on related topics. As the navbox appears on multiple articles it means these articles appear in cleanup listings as highly requested. I see this was discussed some years ago & the articles still haven't been created. Would there be any objection to making them plain black text until the relevant articles are created?— Rod talk 20:19, 16 November 2012 (UTC)
