Problems

edit

If you look at the hundreds of pages that use this template, it is clear that almost none of them use it correctly. Some uses could be automatically fixed, like where it's surrounded by spaces could be replaced by spaced ndash, removing the first space. And where it has a space only on the right, it can just be replaced by spaced ndash. Also, when it's used without any spaces, it can be replaced by a literal ndash character, so then there will remain only a moderate set to review. When they're all gone, we can delete this template that nobody understands or uses correctly, no? Dicklyon (talk) 00:05, 2 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

OK, but there are hundreds to do, and I'm not going to get there "by hand". You have a way to help with scripts or bots? Dicklyon (talk) 02:05, 1 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
It looks like the bot messed things up, too, by putting the spaced ndash template in the lead section of articles. Templates don't show up in tooltip previews, so it results in strange-looking text with missing punctuation in this instance, all of which will need to be manually corrected. — QuicksilverT @ 16:34, 24 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
No.
(a) Two guys talking to each other on a template talk page are not reasonable amount of consensus for a template being removed (badly) from 2k-3k pages.
(b) I know the pages I'm using it for are fine and they make up most of the first page of links; so what is it you two think the problem is? — LlywelynII 17:33, 21 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

"Banshee" in the TV section currently links to "bansee" the thing. It should actually link to "banshee (TV series)" ie http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Banshee_(TV_series)
