Template:Filet-O-Fish → Template:WikiLove - fishburger — This makes it appears that Wikipedia endorses McDonalds and its Filet-o-fish, and advertises it. It should be neutrally made. 70.24.251.71 (talk) 05:05, 4 March 2012 (UTC)

- Oppose, there are many other WikiLove templates that you can choose instead if you don't endorse McDonalds. It's really the users who endorse McDonalds rather than Wikipedia. --The Evil IP address (talk) 11:11, 4 March 2012 (UTC)

- Doesn't that require a WP:IAR determination? NOTADVERTISING is a policy. 70.24.251.71 (talk) 10:41, 5 March 2012 (UTC)
- This daft template is funny and makes editors happy. Happy editors improve Wikipedia. If a rule gets in the way of improving wikipedia, ignore it. This constitutes an "IAR determination." – Lionel (talk) 10:56, 5 March 2012 (UTC)
- Doesn't determining an IAR require a WP:CONSENSUS and not a declaration ? 70.24.251.71 (talk) 04:39, 6 March 2012 (UTC)

Discussion
edit- Any additional comments:
This template isn't actually about the encyclopedic topic of the Filet-O-Fish... shouldn't this name be reserved for that? (ie, shouldn't all WikiLove templates be prepended with "WikiLove"? ) 70.24.251.71 (talk) 08:49, 6 March 2012 (UTC)
- No. Very few Wikilove templates have "Wikilove" and many surprisingly are also encyclopedic topics. E.g. {{Hug}}, {{Smile}} and even {{Popcorn}}. – Lionel (talk) 09:45, 6 March 2012 (UTC)
- Wikipedia is supposed to be an encyclopedia, it seems inappropriate to appropriate the primary names for non-encyclopedic uses, preempting any encyclopedic use of these names. 70.24.251.71 (talk) 03:39, 7 March 2012 (UTC)

Contested deletion
editG11 is for "Pages that are exclusively promotional." This template is not exclusively promotional. It has another purpose: to spread Wikilove. Thus it should not be deleted. – Lionel (talk) 05:28, 4 March 2012 (UTC)
