Proposal: split this template into two

I propose that this template into two separate ones because it's a bit uncomfortable to read now due to its big size. -- PK2 (talk) 22:00, 29 June 2020 (UTC)

Concur it was too large; I have condensed it a bit to reduce size. The other alternative would be to use Template:Navbox with collapsible groups. Not sure splitting it would be beneficial. --Jules (Mrjulesd) 00:28, 30 June 2020 (UTC)

Collapsible format

Does anyone object to converting this navbox into a navbox with collapsible groups given its large size? If not, I will go ahead and make the switch. InfiniteNexus (talk) 04:36, 15 June 2021 (UTC)

Template:Google LLC → Template:Google navbox – The reason I'm requesting for this template to be moved to the new title is to align it with its main article's name, because the legal status suffix of a company isn't normally included in the article's or its template's titles, per WP:NCCORP, and because I personally think that the word 'navbox' is sufficient enough to disamiguate this template from other templates like {{Google}} or {{Google search}}, per WP:TITLEDAB and WP:NATURAL. • Oppose as a completely unnecessary change. Using the corporate suffix/extended legal name for disambiguation is the widespread practice to naturally disambiguate companies with ambiguous names, contrary to the nominator's claim, e.g. Apple Inc., Tesla, Inc., The Coca-Cola Company, Ford Motor Company, Target Corporation, Marvel Entertainment, Meta Platforms, etc. The proposed title also does not "align" with the main article, which is not titled Google navbox.   I can understand that, but this template's main article is titled 'Google', not 'Google LLC', and the word 'navbox' would be used as a disambiguating word in this template's proposed title, like in the titles of some other navbox, sidebar and infobox templates.   The template is already being naturally disambiguated. This is an unnecessary change that "breaks" (I use quotes because the redirects technically work, but a long-term goal would still be to eventually update all links) thousands of transclusions. InfiniteNexus (talk) 20:20, 9 March 2024 (UTC)
