Third parameter

edit

I don't think that the third parameter is needed any more. With some experimentation I found that you can put anything (not blank) into it and the player loads up ant starts playing the correct episode. Moreover the BBC website uses just the id number in its links. I'm not sure why there is a "Play Now" feature anyway since the the same button appears on the program page and having two links instead of one makes it harder to maintain.--RDBury (talk) 22:05, 20 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

It's cool that the template can loose a parameter - when I wrote it the parameter with underscores was necessary for it to work. The reason for the "listen now" link is that that is the primary link, and we should not be creating unnecessary clicks for our users. Maintenance is not really much of a problem, I think. æsthetic and changes according to MoS:ITALIC and MoS:TITLE

edit

Can someone please add an option to italicize titles, so that the result will show up analogous to something like the IMDb template? Also, the period at the end seems very out of place, so how about removing it?

As an example, the external links section for Heart of Darkness currently begins like this (minus the external link arrow icons, which I didn't know how to reproduce):

Heart of Darkness on In Our Time at the BBC. (listen now)
Heart of Darkness at Project Gutenberg

This would look much better and consistent with other templates:

Heart of Darkness on In Our Time at the BBC (listen now)
Heart of Darkness at Project Gutenberg

{{In Our Time|''Heart of Darkness''|b0077474|Heart_of_Darkness}} gives:

Heart of Darkness on In Our Time at the BBC

Will that do? Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 10:39, 21 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

These have been removed, on the grounds that the service now requires registration. Surely we should simply add the "registration needed" marker? All the best: Rich Farmbrough, 13:29, 12 June 2017 (UTC).Reply

Could someone please fix the ambiguous links on Template:In Our Time/doc/status? (e.g. The Epic) Thanks! GoingBatty (talk) 16:39, 3 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
