I decided to create this template after I noticed significant variations and inconsistencies in articles using {{Infobox Egyptian royal tomb}} and its various redirects and the wrapper, {{Infobox Theban Tomb}}. Infobox Theban Tomb provided minimal extra functionality that could easily have been incorporated into Infobox Egyptian royal tomb, so it wasn't really a necessary wrapper. Both infoboxes been moved more than once, leaving several redirects and articles had not been updated, meaning that various template versions using different and often incorrect formatting were in use. There were also variations in the way data had been entered, including some capitalisation issues. Although not included in the template, coordinate data was generated differently in different articles, and this needed cleaning up. Because of this, updating Infobox Egyptian royal tomb and manually correcting articles would have been a lengthy process so I decided to create an entirely new template, incorporating automatic generation of coordinate strings and a locator map. Substing my own wrapper then made it possible to update all 194 articles very quickly. All now use a single template, with a consistent look and feel across all articles. As a result, {{Infobox Egyptian royal tomb}}, {{Egyptian Royal Tomb Detail}}, {{EgyptianRoyalTombDetail}}, {{Infobox Theban Tomb}} and {{ThebanTombDetail}} are all unused redirects. --AussieLegend () 11:19, 20 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
