Champions Section

edit

This was corrupting pages

Page Display showed as

Champions [[File:{{{flag alias-{{{champions-flagvar}}}}}}|22x20px|border |alt=|link=]] USA (4th title)

so I changed it to a simple system - it was
|- {{#if:{{{champions|}}}| {{!}} '''Champions''' {{!}} colspan="2" {{!}} {{#ifeq:{{{gender}}}|women|'''{{bkw|{{{champions|}}}|{{{champions-flagvar}}}}}'''|'''{{bk|{{{champions|}}}|{{{champions-flagvar}}}}}'''}} <small>({{Ordinal|{{{title_number}}}}} title)</small> {{!}}-
is now
|- {{#if:{{{champions|}}}| {{!}} '''Champions''' {{!}} colspan="2" {{!}} [[{{{champions}}}]]<small>({{Ordinal|{{{title_number}}}}} title)</small> {{!}}-  Ronhjones  (Talk) 23:58, 29 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

  • I believe the problem was that the parameter reference "{{{champions-flagvar}}}" provided no default. I would expect that changing this to "{{{champions-flagvar|}}}" (added pipe) should fix the problem, but I'll leave that to the original editor to test. -- Tom N (tcncv) talk/contrib 01:17, 30 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, looks like it worked --Mohsen1248 (talk) 01:47, 30 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

New schedule for FIBA Basketball World Cup

edit

I noticed that the template for the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup displayed it as the "18.25th FIBA Basketball World Cup".

It will in fact be the 18th competition. FIBA has announced that its 2014 World Cup will be the last to be held in the same year as the FIFA World Cup; future World Cups will be held the year after the FIFA World Cup. Note that the World Championship for Women (which did not change its name) will not change its scheduling—it will continue to be held in the same year as the FIFA World Cup. See this FIFA press release for more details.

Think someone could fix the template accordingly? — Dale Arnett (talk) 05:14, 28 July 2012 (UTC) Update: My bad... should be the 18th, not the 19th. — Dale Arnett (talk) 05:31, 28 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Comment: I found out what needs to be changed: Template:Infobox FIBA tourney/World. I don't have enough expertise in template syntax to even think about making that change. — Dale Arnett (talk) 04:23, 27 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
Just to warn that I've edited the sub-template in order to show the 2019 World Cup as the 18th edition (and 2023 as the 19th and so on...). Parutakupiu (talk) 22:17, 28 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Matches quantity unposted data

edit

Matches quantity is a useful data in basketball tournament, it is part of Template:Infobox international football competition and Template:Infobox Rugby World Cup, 2002 FIBA World Championship was a 54 matches sport event 2006 FIBA World Championship and go on is a 80 matches/games event, Women or Men are each a 38 games event in the most recent Basketball at the Summer Olympics, more games mean more tv-money and more ticket to sell--Feroang (talk) 21:51, 28 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

21.5st

edit

The 2005 FIBA Europe Under-18 Championship for Women infobox says it was the "21.5st FIBA Europe Under-18 Women's Championship". 21.5 doesn't appear in the parameters, so it must come from a template. You've had a similar problem before. Art LaPella (talk) 16:54, 13 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
