Additional template parameters

As I go through switching out bus route templates for this one, I've mostly just added fields in existing templates. Some I have not however:

• KMB Route 1A: |Non-Air-Cond._Bus_fare=
• KMB Route 1A: |Air-Cond._Bus_Fare=
• Citybus Route 3B: |section_fare=
• KMB Route 78K: |full_fare=
• KMB Route 272K: |type=
• Shiraz Bus Route 1: |country=
• Shiraz Bus Route 1: |city=
• Shiraz Bus Route 1: |region=

Let me know if I should add any of these and what we should do with the parameters out on those pages, since they contain information that isn't visible in the infobox right now. — Bility (talk) 09:40, 30 April 2011 (UTC)

Parameters for discussion

The following parameters I believe should be deleted because of WP:NOTGUIDE and the fact they would need regular updating (and sourcing) to keep up with standards:

• frequency =
• alt_frequency =
• time =
• day =
• fare =
• cash =
• transfers =

Frequency and span of service (both hours and days of operation) are basic and don't need to be shot down to follow NOTGUIDE. It would be like removing cities and counties from a road article...it's part of the basic definition. SounderBruce 06:40, 24 May 2018 (UTC)

  • For bus rapid transit systems, frequency is a key defining characteristic, so it is permissible under NOTGUIDE. It's similar to how the length of a highway is a key characteristic, while also being a guide-like fact (and thus it's included in road articles). SounderBruce 01:07, 26 May 2018 (UTC)

• As there has been little discussion on this topic since I first posted it two months ago and opposition only for frequencies, I'll leave those parameters in (for now). However the parameters I'm most concerned with are fare and cash, the reason being that we're not a travel guide and that fares can change at little notice. Any objections? Template:Infobox tram line

Could there be added fields or paramewters that are relevant to tramways such as track gauge and railway electrification. The latter (second) is also useful for trolley bus lines. See also template:infobox tram network Peter Horn User talk 16:57, 20 June 2018 (UTC)

Peter Horn, Template:Infobox tram line is an unused redirect. given that most tramways (e.g., Île-de-France tramway Line 1) use {{infobox rail line}}, changing the redirect to point to Template:Infobox rail line may be more appropriate. Frietjes (talk) 12:45, 22 June 2018 (UTC)

That said, many of the fields of template:infobox bus line would also apply to a tram line, but not really to a rail line. Adding them to Template:Infobox rail line would be an even bigger chore. Peter Horn User talk 13:20, 22 June 2018 (UTC)
