Distance

edit

Is this distance supposed to be from the Sun or from the Galactic centre? Evil Monkey - Hello 22:54, 5 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

erm... yes? I think it was intended to be distance from Earth/the Sun, but distance from the galactic center seems better (and less heliocentric). I intend to redo the template at some point; I'll add in parameters for both distances when I do so. For now, you're probably best off indicating which you're meaning in the template call. Which radius?

edit

Is it the the core radius rc or the tidal radius rt or half light radius rh that the template takes? WilliamKF (talk) 01:51, 14 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

How to provide [M/H] metalicity?

edit

The Metallicity parameter "metal_fe" offered is presumably [Fe/H]. From skimming Metallicity I'm guessing that that is different from "Z", and Z is the same as [M/H]. When I have a reference that offers [M/H], how should I represent that, rather than assuming some value for the ration A between 0.9 and 1? Or should we have a new parameter metal_Z? ★NealMcB★ (talk) 01:22, 27 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

I agree with the addition of a "metal_Z" parameter, and can add it in the near future.   ~ Tom.Reding (talkdgaf)  02:05, 27 January 2016 (UTC)Reply
  Done. Added {{Fe/H}} & {{M/H}} too.   ~ Tom.Reding (talkdgaf)  02:18, 29 January 2016 (UTC)Reply
