Delete "color" parameter from documentation as it's not used anymore
editAs far as I can see, the parameter "color" was deleted from the template in January 2019 [1], but it's still present in the documentation, while not affecting anything. If I'm not wrong, then we have to delete it from the docs and it would probably be useful to clean up its use in the template all over Wiki via bots. Solidest (talk) 14:43, 3 March 2021 (UTC)
- I've removed
|color=
from the template doc and the filled out example; no point confusing new users with parameters that don't do anything after all :) Since the parameter is ignored by the template, I don't believe it's vital that we send a bot out to clean up the current uses, but it wouldn't hurt either.Fred Gandt · talk · contribs
16:51, 3 March 2021 (UTC)- I think a bot run is needed; the parameter appears to have been understood by some as a way to designate a genre of music as Black. Yngvadottir (talk) 03:04, 17 March 2021 (UTC)
- This is a really strange way to use this parameter. However, I have already requested removal of the parameter by bots here. Solidest (talk) 14:56, 17 March 2021 (UTC)

Remove unused AKAs from the code?
editOver the past year, I have completely updated all the uses of this template on wiki so next AKAs have became never used and redundant: background, image size, imagesize. I guess they worth removing from the code? "current_year_override" is also not used anywhere and looks redundant at the moment, the only adjusted current_year portal name used in Latin music, and it's handled by "current_year_title". See summary of the uses here. Solidest (talk) 15:06, 6 February 2022 (UTC)
- Done except removal of
|current_year_override=
which might need some discussion IMO.Fred Gandt · talk · contribs

Remove coloring per discussion

It was decided to not use color here. And for anyone interested, here's a discussion on saving the information carried by the colours: Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Music#RfC Adding new parameter "Direction" to replace the removal of colors in the Infobox music genre. - @Terasail, thanks! It also should be removed from unknown parameters module listings, as it was mass-removed yesterday from the templates. Btw, can you please also add to that module
|showblankpositional=1
that will show unfilled invalid parameters? I've been removing them as well for a couple of years, so there's probably zero to very few left that I might have missed. Solidest (talk) 04:58, 25 May 2022 (UTC)- @Solidest Done. Thanks, Terasail[✉️] 12:24, 25 May 2022 (UTC)
