Scripts without ISO codes
editCan we make this template accept "none" for the ISO 15924 code, so that it displays something like "None (Zzzz, 999
)"? This is analogous to the use of "none" in Template:Infobox language, and would be useful on the articles linked from List of scripts with no ISO 15924 code. Glades12 (talk) 06:05, 2 August 2020 (UTC)
Major changes
editI have, boldly, made these changes:
- Added: directionality will be read from Wikidata script directionality (P1406) (based on input like
|iso15924=Cyrl
). - For Wikidata when not on script-article (ie, article-QID is not correct), one can use
|qid=
. - Added parameters
|direction=
, will overwrite here any Wikidata info.|direction comment=
, new, will show anyway. - Added
|official script=
to with label "Official script in" (see Greek script). - Added subheaders: Language, Related scripts (ie family), ISO 15924, Unicode. And reordered data rows for this.
- See also /testcases.

- Removed: font-styling (like italics for shorthand) without clarification. Does not help any reader.
- Removed: font-color (meaning not clarified), does not help any reader. -DePiep (talk) 23:57, 12 February 2021 (UTC)
Undocumented parameters
editWhat is status for? Error (talk) 17:40, 23 November 2022 (UTC)
Huh. I'll be damned. Language status is just whether it is endangered, extinct, vulnerable, etc. Endangered language#Defining and measuring endangerment shows the criteria that UNESCO uses in evaluating language status. I wonder if there's a tool out there that can evaluated how many uses of the infobox use that parameter, but I'd like to see it used more extensively and develop a nice formatted presentation, something like{{taxobox}}
does with conservation status. VanIsaac, GHTV contWpWS 20:04, 23 November 2022 (UTC)- Those are for languages. Are there criteria for writing systems? --Error (talk) 00:52, 24 November 2022 (UTC)
- Dear lord. In my defense I have the flu right now, so please ignore my mangled thought process in which I completely forgot which infobox I was talking about. VanIsaac, GHTV contWpWS 04:08, 24 November 2022 (UTC)
