Why are \oint \oiint \oiint used for both non-oriented and clockwise-oriented integral symbols?

  • \oiint is the non-oriented double closed integral (with elongated circle)
  • \varoiint is the non-oriented double closed integral (with perfect circle)
  • \ointctrclockwise (with perfect circle, upwards arrow on right side)
  • \ointclockwise (with perfect circle, upwards arrow on left side)
  • \varointclockwise (with perfect circle, downwards arrow on right side)
  • \varointctrclockwise (with perfect circle, downwards arrow on left side)
