Structure & purpose
editBreaking up the list of Offenbach's operettas into the various sub-genres of operetta seems kinda silly to me. Why not list all the operettas chronologically? The List of operettas by Offenbach is the appropriate place for the sub-genres to be named. -- Ssilvers (talk) 01:43, 16 October 2012 (UTC)
- It's not only silly but it also makes the template difficult to use. To locate a work, the interested reader has to categorise it first (impossible), then scan the titles in that category. As a navigational aid, the template is not very helpful because it contains too many entries and overwhelms the reader. Lastly, its presence in the articles on Offenbach's stage works is largely redundant, again not improving navigation. I can't see any reason to have it appear in any article. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 13:16, 28 March 2013 (UTC)
