Your large version of this template is not correct. Such templates are supposed only to include existing "towns and villages" = municipalities. Correct list is available also at: Czech Wikipedia and this list should be the same as it is on the CS Wiki. That's all. Nonexistent villages and villages, now part of other municipalities, should not be included. - Darwinek 19:39, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
With all due respect, you are not correct. As an author of this box, I made this table to list all historical settlements in the region. You Darwinek base your opinion on a marginal and incomplete table on the Czech Wikipedia. So, what you think does not really matter much, as your conclusions are based on wrong information. As I said already, I am confident that I have much more experience as far as this topic is concerned than about anyone still alive – see my contributions to various books on the subject (for example: Pachl, Hans - Jauernig und das Jauerniger Ländchen. Ein Heimatbuch des ehemaligen Gerichtsbezirks Jauernig - 1983 and Gernot, Ludwig und Wolf, Kurt - Jauernig und das Jauerniger Ländchen. Das 2. Heimatbuch des ehemaligen Gerichtsbezirkes Jauernig - 1995). Regards L. G. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bolekpolivka (talk • contribs) 20:37, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
PS: Most of the villages listed in my table still exist and you can't seriously think that every single piece of information must be the same in every national Wikipedia? This is NOT a static project!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bolekpolivka (talk • contribs) 20:45, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
- My information is based on official information by the Czech authorities. Table on Czech wikipedia is accurate. You do not know what you are talking about. Such templates are supposed only for current municipalities. - Darwinek 21:04, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
Darwinek and Piotrus,
Per your suggestion, I checked with the Czech authority in Jesenik http://www.info-jesenik.cz – phone: 00420-584 498 155 and according to them my template includes all towns and cities of the region (historically), although as you correctly stated some of them are no longer independent villages and are administered by larger towns. On the other hand, your small box is missing at least 7 still independent townships (e.g. places that have their own independent status within OKRES JESENIK – I do not speak Czech, so I hope I did not butchered this). Therefore, if you want to make a template – Municipalities of the Jesenik District - be my guest (add the missing villages, though). My template is a part of project to record all HISTORICAL and CURRENT settlements (e.g. towns and villages) in the area. So, please leave it alone. Consider that as a creator of this template ONLY I know why I created it. And please do not dictate to me what should be in it. I think that I properly explained my reasons for this info-box here. I am not certain if you understand everything I have written, as I am told that neither of you is a native English speaker, so if you need any further clarification I will be happy to explain this in more detail. With best regards, L.G. (Bolekpolivka 05:39, 8 September 2007 (UTC))
- Darwinek (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) continuosly has vandalised this page. Was warned against it number of times. Weissundblau 09:00, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
Bolekpolivka is frequently vandalising this page and his friends will not be able to stop me and other reasonable editors to bring the template to correct state. Look at Czech Statistical Office or look at the complete list of municipalities in Olomouc Region here for only correct independent municipalities. You simply just don't get the purpose of such templates. Such templates are NOT supposed to show also historical municipalities because it is not clear and confuses readers. ALL, I repeat, ALL such templates on Wikipedia (from Russia to Germany) represents only existing municipalities. - Darwinek 09:41, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
- I was asked to add my two cents here so here you go. In my view, the template could list both existing and former settlements but the latter should be somehow marked (as in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania for instance?). If there's just a plain list of mixed types of settlements (existing, former, merged) I agree it's confusing for readers beacuse they would expect the template to be an official listing. – Caroig (talk) 10:56, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
I agree with your suggestion Caroig, I sent an e-mail to Bolekpolivka and I modified the box, so it reflect what he meant (at least I think that is what he wanted) - HISTORICAL LIST OF VILLAGES AND TOWNS IN THE JESENIK DISTRICT. That makes it clear that it includes former and current settlements. Best Regards (Weissundblau 12:12, 8 September 2007 (UTC)).
- Thanks Weissundblau, I believe this is better. I hope Darwinek and others will be happy with this compromise. L.G. Bolekpolivka 12:31, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
