Kannapolis being in Mecklenburg County
editMy biggest issue with the box is the inclusion of Kannapolis, which has no city limits in Mecklenburg County. There is no real proof there is, no documentation given by either the city of Kannapolis or Mecklenburg County supporting this and what not. Yet, it's there. Is there any real evidence that is supported by the local governments that truly prove this once and for all, or can we finally get rid of a city that's not in the county? –WashuOtaku (talk) 03:42, 26 July 2011 (UTC)
- The article had been vandalised: we have a reliable Census Bureau source showing the presence of the city in Mecklenburg County, and someone had simply removed Mecklenburg improperly. Nyttend (talk) 03:27, 23 August 2011 (UTC)
- Do you have anything else than a Census Bureau source? I mean, I know of a U.S. Representative from Banner Elk, Watauga County; but the town limits are nowhere near the Watauga county line, only that the USPS uses the same zip code in that area for delivery. In that example, though one source says its in Watauga County, clearly the truth is its not. Clearly, the easiest solution probably is to simply contact Mecklenburg County or Kannapolis and ask... so I might do that tomorrow sometime if I have time. --WashuOtaku (talk) 03:55, 23 August 2011 (UTC)
- I took out the reference to Kannapolis in the template and have posted more info at the Kannapolis, North Carolina, talk page about the small portion of land of no longer being in Mecklenburg. It was deannexed in 2009. JoannaSerah (talk) 08:37, 30 August 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you. I wasn't getting very far contacting Mecklenburg County on this. --WashuOtaku (talk) 12:09, 30 August 2011 (UTC)
