First positional parameter
edit@Redrose64: Thank you for amending my documentation here. If the |1=
parameter doesn't do anything any more, though, why don't we make it optional? I was going to update the TemplateData as well to match the template code, but it seems strange to write "this is required, but you can fill it in with anything you want". I suggest removing the |1=
parameter and adding |name=
as an alias for |2=
. The alias is so that people can write {{Merseyrail info lnk|name=stationname}}
, which seems more natural than the double pipe in {{Merseyrail info lnk||stationname}}

- It's retained in case they go back to a numeric system. Not all stations require the second parameter: Aigburth doesn't, for instance; but Moreton (Merseyside) does, because of the disambiguator. --Redrose64 (talk) 20:45, 1 October 2016 (UTC)
