What about the military of ISIL?
editShould we include military of ISIL in the template?
It is a military force (at least according to the title of the article) and it is headquartered somewhere in Asia. Therefore, it seems that it should be included. But under which row? First, I've added it under the "States with limited recognition", because it seemed to make the most sense out of 3 options, but that was reverted by Legacypac, who kindly reminded me that ISIL doesn't have any diplomatic recognition. Would it be better, perhaps, to add a new row (e.g. "Other") and include it there? Feon {t/c} 16:37, 5 January 2015 (UTC)
- There are hundreds of military, paramilitary, rebel, and terrorist groups across Asia. There are dozens active in the Syrian Civil War alone. Then there are other forces like the Americans and British with permanent bases. Where do we stop? Legacypac (talk) 18:11, 5 January 2015 (UTC)
- Only military forces should be included, not smaller groups. As for American and British forces, although maintaining military presence in Asia, they are headquartered in North America and Europe respectively. Feon {t/c} 09:15, 6 January 2015 (UTC)
- Will ISIL be deleted? According to the Wikipedia page on States with limited recognition "Rebel groups which have declared independence and exert some control over territory, but which reliable sources do not describe as meeting the threshold of a sovereign state under international law. Examples include Donetsk People's Republic, Luhansk People's Republic, and the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant." Is this policy that we should follow?
