Important note: Although the language code "nan" is valid, it is actually a code representing the whole Southern Min language group (a.k.a. macrolanguage), while the language written in this test project is Teochew.

There is currently a proposal for to split the Southern Min language into seven languages. In this process, the Min-nan ISO code and language name will be retired.

The seven proposed individual languages within this macrolanguage are:
