Official names (and of articles)

1. Dormition Cathedral (Assumption is wrong as it reffers to a different event)

   Absolutely incorrect. The cathedral has been known as the Assumption Cathedral - just like the Assumption Cathedral in Smolensk and Assumption Cathedral in Vladimir - in every serious source. WP uses a different title for convenience only. --Ghirla ^-трёп- 16:03, 28 April 2006 (UTC)

   Yet the Kremlin cathedral is titled as such if you would move it then fair enough, I have tried to move St. Basils to Cathedral of Intercession and you prevented me so...make it consistent.

   No need to move a stable article, adding more confusion. I don't have time to fix innumerable redirects now. We may do well with the current version of this entry, if you ask me. --Ghirla ^-трёп- 16:37, 28 April 2006 (UTC)

2. Patriarch Palace vs Patriarchal Chambers (official name is Патриарщие палаты)

   And Patriarch Palace is better English, traditionally used in travel guides I have seen. --Ghirla ^-трёп- 16:03, 28 April 2006 (UTC)

   In that case Patriarchal palace, although I would not make much of a palace out of it. Granovitaya palata is a different story, but this...Besides there is no separate article on it yet as it is titled Church of the twelve apostles and THAT is much more well known in English.

   The audience room of this structure is actually larger than that of the Granoviataya. I don't see why the Patriarch could not have lived in a "palace". Besides, the word "chamber" doesn't make much sense in English and I was reverted in the past when attempting to call separate buildings by this word. --Ghirla ^-трёп- 16:39, 28 April 2006 (UTC)

3. Adding the diamond treasury (what's wrong with that?)

   If this "treasury" needs a separate article from Kremlin Armoury (and I'm not convinced of this at all), are you prepared to write this article now? WP:CONTEXT disapproves of wanton red-linking. I don't care about this item, however. --Ghirla ^-трёп- 16:03, 28 April 2006 (UTC)

   Yes it is. First of all they are different expositions, managed by compleately different bodies and the exposition on the treasury does need expanding (I might actually write it, but later).

4. Congressional palace vs State Kremlin Palace (former name and incorrect "Съездной Дворец" -> :(, kasha ) --Kuban Cossack 15:57, 28 April 2006 (UTC)

   You may use "official" names in the titles of the articles. Templates are different: they should operate with the most easily recognizable and popular names. Most people know it as the "Palace of Congresses"; please don't make them get lost between Grand Kremlin Palace and State Kremlin Palace which sound almost identically but in reality are very different buildings. --Ghirla ^-трёп- 16:03, 28 April 2006 (UTC)
