Purpose

edit

Why has this duplicate of {{Oceania topic}} been created?-gadfium 19:00, 17 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

This is not a duplicate of "Oceania topic". "Oceania topic" is a template generator that generates navboxes that affix country names to strings, such as Sport in Australia or Religion in Australia. "Oceanic topic" is also a template generator, but it affixes country adjectivals rather than country names, producing such strings as Australian literature and Australian cuisine. Having both template generators is necessary because some national concepts, such as sport and religion, more commonly take the form "Concept in/of country" while other national concepts, such as literature and cuisine, more commonly take the form "Adjectival concept". Hawaiian

edit

@Narky Blert: added a disambiguation tag for the link to Hawaiian, presumably because that's a disambiguation page. However when this template is used in an article, the link is expanded. For example, in Oceanian literature, this template links to Hawaiian literature, which is correct. I think no disambiguation tag is needed.-22:00, 12 August 2017 (UTC)
