Use Commons' template.

edit

Instead of using this template, consider uploading to commons instead, and using http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Template:PD-EdictGov there. --Elvey (talk) 03:59, 27 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Template:PD-lawsTemplate:PD-EdictsGov – Welcome, group mentioned at w:Requested_moves! At the end of this section, I proposed harmonizing the names for a PD template for laws and other edicts on different wikis a long time ago, and got no feedback. Please review it. There's another, shorter relevant discussion. Precedent: WFile_copyright_tags/USA. (I hope https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4547 gets fixed. I think it would make for much less work for template authors.) relisted-Mike Cline (talk) 12:42, 23 January 2012 (UTC)--Elvey (talk) 06:02, 15 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

"PD-EdictsGov" is not a very descriptive name for a template. That could certainly be used as a redirect, but there's no reason to use such shorthand notation for the actual name of the template. If a rename is required, something like {{PD-government edict}} would be much clearer. By the way, the similar template on Commons is cryptically named {{PD-US-GovEdict}}.
