Trigger warning

edit

Could we please be careful with images of spiders on the main page, especially of large spiders, and especially with images where the spider is so manifestly the center of attention (as opposed to simply appearing in the background)? For people with with arachnophobia (like me), this is really upsetting and distressing.

I know that Wikipedia isn't censored, and neither should it be. But a trigger warning that tells arachnophobic people to not look would be nice. Perhaps it would be technically possible to replace the image with a placeholder that says "TW: spider --- click to show", which, when clicked, gets replaced with the actual image?

Thanks! 2003:D5:AF36:EC00:E55E:79C1:F0C8:3D98 (talk) 05:51, 17 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
