This template is obscenely huge. Is there any way to have all the subsections hidden by default instead of open by default? Kaldari 19:06, 16 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

I agree that the template is way too big. What I propose is that the MTV Networks section (which takes up nearly two-thirds of the template) be split into a separate template; like Template:TBS was off of Template:Time Warner, or NBC Universal was from GE. I definitely would not be able to split it though. Any other suggestions? --Squeak 02:56, 17 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
How about converting it to {{Navbox generic}} like Template:Time Warner ? It appears to be the current navbox standard and the default state is collapsed. --Geniac 12:55, 17 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
That would be awesome. Kaldari 17:57, 17 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Taking another look at it, that MTV Networks section needs split off also because it has sections of its own (Channels in North America...Closed channels). I can't work on this more today, but if nobody does so by tomorrow, I'll create two sandboxes; one to test a {{Navbox generic}} version of this template and one to test a MTV Networks navbox. --Geniac 19:26, 17 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Ok, see Template:Viacom/sandbox. I'll get the MTV Networks one done later. --Geniac 20:26, 17 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Ok, see Template:MTV Networks. --Geniac 21:42, 17 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
I made a few minor changes, let me know what you think. Otherwise I think these are ready to go. Kaldari 22:38, 21 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

(de-indent) Cool beans. I had linked to the MTV Networks template only because I saw that's how Template:Time Warner did it. The changes to this template since this discussion started have only been to the MTV Networks section, so I've updated Template:MTV Networks to reflect those changes, then replaced this template with the sandbox version. --Geniac 02:38, 22 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

For some reason the templates still don't show up as collapsed by default for me. Wonder why. Kaldari 04:53, 22 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
I forgot to put collapsed as the state parameter. Could you do the same for {{MTV Networks}}? I am not able to edit that template at this time. --Geniac 20:01, 23 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Done. I've gone ahead and fixed the footer templates for all the MTV Network articles (all gazillion of them). Kaldari 22:54, 23 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

The CW4Kids and 4Kids TV under the BET Networks banner???

edit

How in any way is Viacom associated with both The CW4Kids and 4Kids TV??? First of all, both are mere programming blocks are programmed by 4Kids Entertainment, which is a company of its own. Second, CW4Kids is seen on The CW, which is co-owned by CBS and Time Warner. Third, as for 4Kids TV, it is seen on UPN, which is owned by Viacom/CBS. As far as I know, Viacom, nor BET are mentioned anywhere in the articles in relation to CW4Kids or 4Kids TV. WIKIVUE Detroit (talk) SUN JUN 15 2008 12:25 AM EDT | 4:25 AM UTC

Paramount no longer has a stake in the Decades network, as their CBS-owned stations replaced it with Start TV in 2018. 2603:8001:B202:3294:514A:54EE:2451:488D (talk) 20:44, 22 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
