Posthumous Titles

edit

This template has included several figures whose titles under Cao Wei were only awarded posthumously - examples being Cao Ang and Cao Chong, both of whom died before Cao Cao was declared Duke of Wei (魏公), let alone before Cao Pi declared himself emperor upon Emperor Xian's abdication. Perhaps surprisingly, Cao Cao himself, though posthumously honoured as an emperor, is noticeably absent. While I am appreciative that posthumous titles are currently marked with italics, I can't help but notice that the inclusion of such individual's who predeceased the Cao Wei state is consistent neither with other "prominent people of (insert state here)" templates nor internally. Is there any consensus as to whether or not individuals with posthumous Cao Wei ranks and titles should be incorporated, and if so how? Benjitheijneb (talk) 20:56, 5 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

To keep things consistent, I prefer limiting the template to people who were, at the very least, alive during the Wei period (220-265). There is no reason why we should include Cao Chong if we exclude Cao Cao, or why we exclude Cao Teng. _dk (talk) 21:19, 5 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
