- In fact these are not ranks but offices or charges. Moreover "generale di corpo d'armata con incarichi speciali" is one of them and is OF-8 not OF-9 so I removed it. --F l a n k e r 22:38, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:ImageIT-Army-OF9.jpg
editImage:ImageIT-Army-OF9.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 08:49, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
Maresciallo d'Italia ?!?
editGenerale d'Armata is an old rank designation abolished in 1947, now is simply Generale, see www.esercito.difesa.it general ranks, and is a NATO STANAG 2116 OF-9. The chief of the Italian Armed Forces is a Generale, but the rank can be holded by other charges. The rank with three stars and one red bordered star is Generale di Corpo d'Armata con incarichi speciali and is an OF-8 (is a special duty of a Generale di Corpo d'Armata: there are tons of such ranks, like Colonnello con incarichi di Generale di Brigata, Colonnello con funzioni di Generale di Brigata, and so. Would you insert all of them?). Maresciallo d'Italia is a rank of the Regio Esercito (Royal Army) not of the Esercito Italiano (Italian Army). If you refers to gradi_spalline_old.asp, this is an old rank page (the Generale d'Armata rank was abolished since 1947, like I said, and is clearly written). Please, read and study before post an edit. --F l a n k e r 17:03, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
- I've nominated Image:50px-IT-Army-OF10.GIF for deletion because it is not representing a real rank insignia. The rank of Maresciallo d'Italia was an honorary (not only war time) rank of the Kingdom of Italy, not a rank of the Italian Repubblic. Moreover the insigna is wrong. For more informations see it:Maresciallo d'Italia. --F l a n k e r 11:55, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
- PS: here, in the Italian Army home page, there is the real insignia (refferring to 2nd world war, so for the Kingdom Army). You can see that the old insigna of the Kingdom are very different from the new ones of the Republic. The old insignia are used today on the sleeves of the dress or cerimony uniforms. --F l a n k e r 12:02, 27 June 2007 (UTC)

Generale di corpo d'armata con incarichi speciali
editThis is not a rank, but a role, like many others: generale di brigata con incarichi di generale di divisione, generale di brigata con funzioni di generale di divisione, generale di divisione a titolo onorifico, ecc... --F l a n k e r 22:41, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
- I'm inclined to include these variants for role, or at least to include a mention and a link to them. After all, they are insignia and used as such, and we do show multiple insignia for other countries as appropriate. Caerwine Caer’s whines 06:30, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
