Just a thought if anyone pays attention to this page: Should the Kangoo and the Modus really be under the same category (Mini MPV). They are, after all, quite different types of vehicles. /Kriko 16:42, 10 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Coupé

edit

Megane Coupé are forgotten...

"Coupé" is a commercial designation in this case; the three-door Mégane is a hatchback. Anyway, it's already included as a small family car, just like the Astra Coupé or the 307 CC. -- NaBUru38 18:40, 19 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Also Renault 21 Concorde is absent... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ferreet (talkcontribs) 19:33, 26 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Latitude

edit

The Latitude is listed as an Executive Car, not a family car - should that not be reflected in the Template? SezySairs (talk) 01:17, 14 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Proposed changes to classification

edit

I appreciate that the last set of changes I made to this list may have been a little too WP:BOLD(consensus 'n' all that), but I would nonetheless like to put forward my arguments for changing the way the cars are classified in this template.

At the moment, the 'coupe' section comprises the fuego, the avantime and the laguna coupe. The implictation here thus seems to be that these cars are related, evolutions and revolutions of roughly the same design concept, but adjusted to fit the time they are being built in. This isn't really the case - the fuego's an FF configuration sports car, the laguna's the coupe version of a large family car, and the avantime's an MPV aimed at the fashion conscious. I think it would be more sensible to have a system that denoted these distinctions, grouping the cars by purpose (large family car, sports car, coupe MPV) rather than by body style, as the classification currently stands.

Thus my proposal is that the fuego should share a 'sports car' row with the sider, and possibly the wind. I would even, for the sake of completeness, be tempted to add the Renault Alpine GTA to this section. Alternatively, it could share a sports car section with the spider which would have a row width of two and also share a convertible section with the wind, which would itself only be considered a convertible (this depends on one's definition of 'sports car'). The avantime would have its own coupe MPV category, and the laguna coupe would not have a specific mention - the megane coupe does not, after all.

In this way, the cars in the new categories would share considerably more characteristics than in the categories in which they were previously placed, in my view improving the template as a result.
