I'm not sure that the other former schools of Derby were notable - they probably were to the people who went there. I've added them for completeness in the context of post 1944 grammar schools in Derby. Parkfield Cedars gets a reference in the Judith Hann article.OldDerbeian07:15, 15 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Redlinks in navigation templates seem to serve no useful purpose and also create problems, as sometimes they encourage the creation of articles for schools which aren't notable. I suggest that it would be better to include the blue links only and add new articles for notable schools as they are created, which is the norm in almost all such templates. Does anyone object to that approach? Xn403:54, 30 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
One purpose they serve is to show that no article for the school exists, rather than that it simply hasn't been added to the template. I find that useful. Is any British secondary school truly not notable? They have all had thousands of people pass through them, have newspaper articles written about them (on opening day if no other - you can be sure), appear in directories, on the OFSTED website, etc, etc. YMMV. -Arb.13:10, 30 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
It was a rhetorical question (sigh). It was followed by a sentence showing how easily most British schools would meet WP:N. You suggested creating stubs for the red linked schools. That was a grand idea. If the red bothers you so much why not go ahead and act on it - the basic information you'd need should be available via Google. Additions to Wikipedia are so much more constructive than deletions. -Arb. (talk) 12:34, 23 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Actually, I doubt that most British schools do meet WP:N. And it gets harder with schools for which there are no recent sources, but I've made a start with an article on Bemrose School. Your turn. Xn419:18, 23 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
You certainly have made a start, that's a pretty decent article for an evening's editing. Re: "Your turn.", fair enough. But it'll have to wait till the autumn - during summer the demands of family tend to limit my Wikipedia activity to maintenance only. -Arb. (talk) 12:28, 24 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
