Big changes
editI made this template look more like the Islam one, almost exactly like it, however it is a bit smaller. Any information that was specific to Twelverism was taken out, and more information that applied to all Shi'ah groups was added. This correlates with the big changes on the Twelvers template front, and the Ismailis template front.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Enzuru (talk • contribs) 20:21, April 21, 2007 (UTC).
Hadith of the two weighty things
editThe "History" section contains two different links to the same article.
Some things here are not universal
editI noticed that some things listed on this template are not universally accepted by all Shi'a; to be more specific, it seems that in some ways the majority view (Twelver) is being represented as the only view. Ismah isn't accepted by Zaidis and The Occultation isn't accepted by Zaidis and some Ismailis. With that in mind, I think those ought not be linked to on this template but rather on the templates for the Twelver and (in the case of Occultation) Ismaili branches. MezzoMezzo (talk) 04:27, 6 April 2014 (UTC)
- I'm going to go ahead and remove things that are only specific to certain branches of Shia then, and not general to all of them, such as those mentioned above. MezzoMezzo (talk) 03:45, 14 April 2014 (UTC)
- ِDear @MezzoMezzo:, Please ping me or @Mhhossein: whenever you have a question or want a contribution from a Twelver.--Seyyed(t-c) 06:20, 2 July 2015 (UTC)
- Hey @MezzoMezzo: and @Sa.vakilian: How about adding the branches in a parenthesis, such as Ismah (Twelver)? This way the readers will get to know which one is specific to each branch. Mhhossein (talk) 10:41, 2 July 2015 (UTC)
- There is another template which dedicates to Twelver. I think your suggestion may confuse the reader.--Seyyed(t-c) 13:09, 2 July 2015 (UTC)

Image in template
editThe image being used is template doesn't seems to align with Shia belief & practice of suffixing the Name/Title of Imams with Alaihis'Salam. I think this needs to be rectified.--Fztcs 16:42, 2 May 2020 (UTC)
- I agree that the image should be changed. "R.A." is normally not appended to Ali's name in Shia Islam; "A.S." is normally used instead. In addition, having Ali's name as the image in the infobox may give the false impression that Shias place a greater importance on Ali than Muhammad. I reverted the image back to an older version's image that had a logo of Ghadeer. Snowsky Mountain (talk) 20:36, 17 May 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks Snowsky Mountain, BTW...your changes (which I failed to noticed) were undone by an IP and I had put , which too was reverted. As, of now I have restored the image put by you ie , lets see.
- Another thing I have uploaded another image done by us ie .--Fztcs 16:22, 22 June 2020 (UTC)
- This looks good for Template:Twelvers, since it contains the names of The Twelve Imams, but does not fit well for this Shi'a template.108.18.143.93 (talk) 00:11, 27 June 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks Faizhaider! Maybe if this continues we should request that the template be IP-protected. The other image that you mentioned (File:14Infallible+Bismillah.png) looks good as well but it might be a little too wide for the template -- maybe it would be better for the page Portal:Shia Islam?--Snowsky Mountain talk contribs2020-06-23T00:01:31signed on behalf by Fztcs
- Snowsky Mountain, again, it has been replaced, I have fixed it with summary asking for Talk-Page discussion. Regarding the 14Infallible+Bismillah.png img I don't intend to use it here as it is specific to Twelver while this one is generic Shia tamplate.--Fztcs
I think current image ( ) is good enough and there is no need to change it, any change need to be discussed first.--Editor-1 (talk) 03:17, 23 June 2020 (UTC)
- @Editor-1: Thank you.--Fztcs 03:36, 23 June 2020 (UTC)
- What are those 2 in the picture doing is not so clear, besides it is already being used here: Portal:Shia Islam, 2 person in green color is that the representation of this sect? you can find something better if you continue to search.161.253.74.2 (talk) 18:58, 25 June 2020 (UTC)
- Portal:Shia Islam is not really matter, you can provide your suggestions and we will evaluation them.--Editor-1 (talk) 19:09, 25 June 2020 (UTC)
- If you care to read the description of image and details regarding it, you'll come to know it is one of the defining moments of Shia doctrine & history. Regarding it's usage and suggestion of it's replacement I second Editor-1's comment.--Fztcs 19:55, 25 June 2020 (UTC)

Image in template
editI don't really think the image in the template is appropriate, it is ambiguous (praising? wailing? crying? waving at planes?) and I think the previous image, 195px|Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim, should replace it or really anything that isn't supposed to represent human figures. I was going to do this but there is a message saying to come here first to rasie the subject so that's what I'm doing. Liz Read! Talk! 19:09, 15 June 2024 (UTC)
